Within the framework of the lectures of the compulsory curriculum of the medical faculty as well as of the faculty of mathematics and natural sciences, the institute imparts basic knowledge about the immune system and immunity with a view to molecular mechanisms of immune diseases as well as immunotherapy.

The institute is involved in the education and training of bachelor and master candidates as well as doctoral and post-doctoral students in the fields of medicine, biology, chemistry and pharmacy. The teaching staff are members of the "Interdisciplinary Program Molecular Medicine" and the "Graduate School for Biological Sciences". We strive to present the complex biomedical issues not only didactically efficiently, but also attractively and in a contemporary manner, and to convey the novel concepts in an understandable way. Along these guiding principles, our current teaching concept of immunology for the study of medicine and biology is based.
